Hey Nick and everyone, I've landed my first SEO client. I want to use the techniques I've learned here to rank her website and bring her leads. She's agreed to pay $500 for month 1 and $400 each additional month, for 3 - 6 months. She really wants to see results quickly and will stop paying if she's not seeing results.

The good news is that she makes a few thousand dollars (or more!) on a sale. She owns a roofing and contracting company. So if I can prove I've brought in just a few sales she will have made her money back and we can continue and branch out with even more keywords and budget.

Questions

Q: What would you guys suggest I do to show her results ASAP and make her want to keep paying me for SEO?

Q: Should I create a CallFire or other type of tracking phone number so I can prove to her I'm bringing in leads? How is best to prove your worth as an SEO?

I'm kind of freaking out because this is my first SEO client.

About the keywords

There's 4 local keywords that bring in 1500 searches a month according to SpyFu. The competition for the 4 local keywords are 34, 37, 38, and 44 according to SpyFu.

My plan is:

  • Make an IFTTT linkwheel that syndicates all her blog posts out to a bunch of Web 2.0s.
  • Write a 2k word blog post for each keyword.
  • Use the Cheap SEO blog post tactics to rank each page.

That's about all I know to do. I was also considering creating a bunch of Web 2.0's and ranking them as well, to try and dominate page 1 with a bunch of different Web 2.0's.

Thanks in advance, you guys rock!

I would only use expired web 2s for backlinks....stay away from PBN if it's not your own site.

Find some awesome expired Tumblr blogs and drop some backlinks on them, index no more than 3 a day...slow and steady is the best method now. To start off, don't use any exact match anchors....the latest algo update seems to love long tail, part match and LSI anchors....and brand anchors are king right now....build her brand....I would drop brand only anchors to start off with.

You will prove your worth by bringing in traffic to her site, you need her Google analytics data for this....if she doesn't have it then set one up.

Remember to take it slow and steady.....let us know how it goes :-)

Good luck

Thanks Nick! I was considering taking the whole budget for month 1 and buying expensive links with it. Spend $500 on good links. I remember you linked to a powerful backlink that costs $100 or something in one of your posts?

Should I do that? Or are the same Expired Tumblrs you mention in the Free Backlinks post good enough to rank in moderate competition local?

I would start with Tumblr backlinks myself and index them very slowly, your client will not be happy if her site drops a lot in the SERPs doing the good old Google dance. Stay away from PBN backlinks until you have tried web 2s. That's the safe way to go.

Nick, I've been using your methods on a couple other clients to test it out. One client is on page 1 #10 and the other was on page 1 but has fallen to page 2.

I want to use Money Robot software to boost them to page 1, is that a good idea Nick?

I posted another thread asking for particulars in regards to Money Robot methods. Please check it out when you get a chance, thank you! :)

If I was you, I would create a few pbns, but create on your own pbn network not cheap ones from fiverr or seoclerk, I would use it but making it safer as possible.

Personally I wouldn't use Money Robot. When a site starts to gain backlinks it is usual for it to drop and then rise, if you keep building the backlinks at a steady rate the rank will improve.

The PBN route that Pedrovsky suggests is a good option. I have it on very good authority that these PBN backlinks are top quality.

I also recommend this Premium Web 2.0 service, it's definitely worth the money. All done manual, it is great for pushing ranks....10 backlinks per month from different platforms is all you are going to require on the right keywords.

You should check out the Money Robot forum for all their methods. It's a decent piece of software, however I would not use it on a clients site.

Are expired Tumblr PBNs good enough? I have 30 or so expired Tumblrs that seem to work well so far. What kind of PBN should I build?

Wow this Premium Web 2.0 service looks great! Use this to make a linkwheel like in Month 2?

these PBN backlinks are expensive!! $200 - they must be awesome. Is it good idea to buy these for Month 1?

Yes use the Premium web 2.0 service to get month 2 done....ask them to link them up into a link wheel...they will do it for you :-)

You can use those PBN backlinks for month 1...personally I would save them for month 3 if ranks are not as high as I would want them to be. Go with Tumblr and Weebly backlinks in month 1....do premium quality web 2.0 in month 2...then hit the site with those high quality PBN backlink in month 3 if required...if not you have saved some money :-)
