Nick, Just need your suggestion.Yesterday, I complete my 3 months 2.0 strategy..

However, My results are not good as expected.

i am going to outline everything I did. I know, I have made some mistake and therefore going to correct it.

My results :

my main keyword : currently ranking at 11th postion.

a little different version of that same keyword rakning at No 14 and 12.

What I did?

I guess, I had build the backlinks too quick for the first month. currently I have 43 links pointing to that page ( including fresh web 2.0 and expired )

I had a couple of links to that page already. and my anchor text ratio is also low.

Now, I am planning to go back to all the links and editing the ancor text. I mean, though I did brand, url link, I really messed up with exact match anchor and random keyword.

Nick, If I edit those anchor text based on as you suggested, will it be a problem?

or should i build new backlinks to them?

there are already 43 web 2.0 links to that page. If I add more, is not it going to look un natural?

what's your take on it? What should I do next?

Hi Zeb224, it would be a good idea to go back and change your anchor text, this will not be a problem at all....it will take a while to make a difference....but it will.

If it was me I would go ahead and build some more backlinks to even out the anchor text ratio.  I would build some expired Tumblr backlinks, unique text...few paragraphs an image and a video in the post will do....quick and easy 🙂

I believe this is my issue for a few of the pages I was trying to rank as well. Like Nick said, though, I wouldn't bother editing your already-built links. THAT would look unnatural. Just go out and make some more expired Tumblrs for those exact match anchors.

If you're worried about having too many Tumblrs in your backlink profile you can also do niche-relevant blog comments or grab a PBN gig from Fiverr. Both work pretty well for diversity and SERP boosts. I'd recommend using comments for generic / branded anchors only, though. Then maybe grab one of the Fiverr or SEOclerk PBN gigs and going with a 20-25% exact match anchor ratio on it.

I went pretty low on the exact match on some of my pages out of paranoia (around 10% max). I've read on several SEO forums, blogs, and heard from pros that you can get away with 20-25% easily. Once you go higher than that, though, it becomes pretty risky.

I'm planning to add more Tumblrs and niche-relevant blog comments to my pages this month. I have several sitting at #11 to #15. I do have pages currently sitting at #3 to #7 as well, though.

thanks nick and brad.

will figure out something and post here the details as well..

one more question..

i have launched a new site on a different niche. and I am gonna target a really heavy keyword.. around Keyword difficulty is 43 in keyword finder and 38 in K.revelar..

I know it will take time to see results. however, I am planning to have some patience before seeing any results.

would you please share your individual thoughts on how would you go out and tackle this?

what would be your exact strategy for this keyword for the first six month? or even 8 months?

For a new site I would do the expired Tumblr backlinks strategy for the first 3 months.

Then evaluate my next move based on where I sit in the SERPs.

I would go for powerful PBN backlinks after that.

On site optimisation remains the same apart from you need to add these few extra elements:

  • Google Map
  • NAP (Name, Address and Phone)
  • On site customer reviews or testimonials with customer name and location noted underneath them.

Off site you can use all the regular backlink strategies with these added extras:

  • Location targeted links from local sites
  • Local listings in niche directories see this seo clerks gig
  • See this gig for local business listings, local citations
  • Get a Google My Business Page

Combine this with web 2.0 backlinks too....

Create 10 unique pieces on content. Then post the content on:

5 Weebly blogs

5 Tumblr blogs

Link to the page you are trying to rank. If that is your homepage then link to your homepage. If you are trying to rank a blog post on your site, link to that.

Hope this answers what you are asking?

Hoping this isn't a fluke, but one of my keywords magically popped up to #4 today. 2,400 searches per month. 17 for competitive score on Keyword Revealer. Haven't even done the web 2.0 ring on this one yet. But it does have some good PBN links pointing at it, along with Tumblrs.
